Somnolent Nova is the fifth full-length album by Californian lo-fi artist City Girl. The album was released on January 14, 2019.[1]
Release
Every previous City Girl album has seen a release on Soundcloud.[3] Rather than uploading each track individually, the entire album would be uploaded as one "song" on the site.[3] Somnolent Nova saw a departure from this, as it was the first City Girl album to not receive a Soundcloud release in this fashion. Instead, one track from the album, "From a Lonely Star", was uploaded on Soundcloud on January 14 alongside the release of the album.[4] This would be the only song from the album to see a Soundcloud release, as similarly to Celestial Angel, there were no songs from the album released in advance.[3] A lyric video of "Motionless" was uploaded to YouTube on February 22, 2019.[7]
