Hartzog defeated Wesley "Cabbage" Correira in a professional mixed martial arts match on November 14, 2000 in Hawaii.[26] Correira holds professional fighting wins over Tank Abbott and Butterbean. Butterbean beat Peter McNeeley in 1999 and went ten rounds with Larry Holmes in 2002.

Boxing and mixed martial arts management company MTK Global announced in April 2022 that it would cease global business operations, stating it faced an unprecedented level of scrutiny since the United States' decision to sanction alleged crime boss Daniel Kinahan.
The U.S. government announced on April 12, 2022 that the Department of Treasury is offering a reward of $5 million for information that will lead to the "financial destruction" of the Kinahan crime gang or the arrest and conviction of its leaders.[20]
