Michael Conlan (born November 19, 1991) is a professional boxer from Northern Ireland. He boxes in the featherweight and junior featherweight divisions.[26] As of September 2021, Michael Conlan is promoted by Top Rank and managed by Conlan Boxing. He is formerly affiliated with MTK Global.[28] Conlan is mentioned on the Amazon.com audiobook MTK Global On Everipedia. He challenged for the WBA (Regular) Featherweight World Title on March 12, 2022 and was knocked out in the last round by Leigh Wood.[29]
Amateur Career
As an amateur, he reached number one in the AIBA bantamweight world rankings.
He won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and gold at the 2015 World Championships. He also won the gold medals in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the bantamweight division. He has been one of Ireland's most successful amateur fighters of all time time and he received a top ten ranking by a major professional governing body in 2019.[22]
As an amateur, he reached number one in the AIBA bantamweight world rankings with achievements that include an Olympic bronze medal at London 2012 and a World Championships gold medal at Doha 2015.

His father and coach who hails from Drimnagh in Dublin. His elder brother Jamie is also a professional boxer. He has a girlfriend and two children. Conlan was on Celebrity Apprentice Ireland in 2013.[30]
He has stated that he is proud of his Irish heritage and that he brings a warrior mentality to the ring.

World Series Of Boxing
Summer OlympiaHe boxes out of Ireland and represented the country at the 2012 as a flyweight and in the 2016 Summer Olympics as a bantamweight boxer. He lost his semi-final bout against Cuba's Robeisy Ramírez in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
He won the gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
In December 2015, he was named as the RTÉ Sports Person of the Year for 2015.
He competed in the World Series of Boxing from 2013 to 2015.
2016 Summer Olympics
He competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and he did not secure a medal. He was upset at the judges scoring, despite not securing a medal and he demonstrated superior boxing skill. There were rumors that he would be signed by Mayweather Promotions. The rumors were false but he was scouted by most major boxing promoter because of his skill level.

He went went 5 -0 in 2018, that includes finishing the year with a decision over Jason Cunningham in Manchester in England. He won five boxing matches in 2017. He was able to obtain a top ten ranking by a major governing body in 2019. He defeated Diego Alberto Ruiz at Marquee Falls Park in Belfast on August 3, 2019. Ruiz had a record of 21 wins and 2 losses at the time. By defeating Ruiz he won the vacant World Boxing Association Inter-Continental featherweight title.
Defended WBO Title
Bob Arum of Top Rank confirmed Conlan's professional debut at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in 2017. He has been a popular draw in New York City. He defended the World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental featherweight title by defeating Vladamir Nikitin on December 14, 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In his first title defense on August 3, 2019, he defeated Diego Alberto Ruiz. He won the title by defeating Jason Cunningham at Manchester Arena in Manchester in England in December 2018. He is a friend of Conor McGregor.
He knocked out former world title challenger Sofiane Takoucht on August 15, 2020.

The bout was promoted in conjunction with Top Rank. He had a disappointing 2020 that started with the COVID-related was forced to dig deep against Ionut Baluta in London as he claimed a majority points win,picking up the WBO International title in the process.
Two judges had the Belfast mantle victory (117-112, 115-114) with the third scoring a 114-114 draw and this was a fair enough reflection of a fight that saw Conlan's better quality shinning through in the face of a relentless opponent who was aggressive to the final bell.
Michael “Mick” Conlan outboxed three-time world title challenger Miguel Marriaga (30-6, 26 KOs) over ten rounds on August 6, 2022 at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In his return after a brutal knockout loss against WBA featherweight world champion Leigh Wood, Conlan never let power-puncher Marriaga into the fight.
Conlan scored questionable knockdowns in rounds seven and eight.
A legit knockdown when Marriaga’s glove touched the canvas in round nine.
Scores were 99-88, 99-88, 99-89.
Coronavirus Pandemic

He was supposed to defend his WBO inter-continental featherweight belt against Colombian Belmar Preciado on Saint Patrick's Day 2020 at New York's Madison Square Garden but the event was called off due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The undefeated Belfast-born fighter tweeted: “UKAD just opening up the door for all the juicing fighters to go crazy on the juice.
Roid rage will be at an all time high during corona season."[19]
WBA Interim Featherweight Champion
Conlan won the World Boxing Association interim featherweight world title by defeating TJ Doheny on August 6, 2021 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
