David Bailey is a Police Officer with the United States Capitol Police in Washington, D.C. One June 14, 2017, David Bailey (Capitol Police Officer) and fellow officer Crystal Griner fatally shot liberal terrorist James Hodgkinson when he attacked Republican Party lawmakers.

David Bailey lives in Washington, D.C. He is fan of the Dallas Cowboys and his Alma mater's North Carolina Central Eagles college sports teams. David is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and supports the Brazil national football team. He is also a supporter of the Blue Lives Matter. David is close to his mother Rita.
Rachel Brooks knew Bailey from college and has stayed in touch with him:
"In addition to being a very personable individual, he was always very concerned for others," she said.
"He always talked about becoming a police officer and I remember when he first shared he was working in Washington D.C. and he was so proud."

David Bailey graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. His extracurricular activities included membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and participating in Student Government Association.

As an officer with the United States Capitol Police, David Bailey was assigned to the security detail protecting House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. He first became a Police Officer with the United States Capitol Police in 2008. From 2005-2008 he worked in administration at the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
GOP Baseball Shooting
On June 14, 2017, a Bernie Sanders supporter named James Hodgkinson opened fire on a Republican congressmen practicing baseball. David Bailey and fellow officer, Crystal Griner shot Hodgkinson to death, stopping the terrorist attack.
Bailey and Griner were wounded in the shootout, as was congressman Steve Scalise, the Majority Whip. No one was killed except for the gunman. Bailey recovered and was later released the same day.
