Crystal Griner is a police officer with the United States Capitol Police.

Education

Griner is a graduate of Hood College, Class of 2006. While at Hood, she was a star point guard for the basketball team.

Career

Griner has worked as a United States Capitol Police Officer for over 9 years.

GOP Baseball Shooting

In June 2017, a Bernie Sanders supporter named James Hodgkinson opened fire on Republican congressmen practicing baseball. Griner and fellow officer David Bailey shot Hodgkinson to death.

Griner and David Bailey were wounded in the shootout, as was congressman Steve Scalise, the Majority Whip. No one was killed except for the gunman.
