Betsy Woodruff graduated cum laude from Hillsdale College in 2012 with a degree in English. [4] While at school, she was heavily involved with the Dow Journalism Program and got multiple awards, including from the Michigan Press Association. [9]
Career
Her career began as a summer intern for the Washington Examiner in 2011. [10] In 2012 she earned the William F. Buckley Fellowship from the National Review Institute. [11] After working for the National Review for two years, she once again joined the Washington Examiner on their full-time staff. [10] She previously worked for Slate.com. In March of 2015, she moved to The Daily Beast as a Political Journalist. She covers the United States Department of Justice,immigration, and federal law enforcement.[4]
Personal Life
Betsy is the daughter of Scott Woodruff and Jane Tharp Woodruff. She grew up with her two siblings, a brother Chris Woodruff and a sister Jane Woodruff. Her mom Jane Tharp Woodruff is a housewife, who moved on from the University of Missouri in Marketing. She used to work at Patrick Henry College Bookstore.[29]
Betsy Woodruff is engaged to Jonathan Swan since March of 2018. He is an Australian writer and is filling in as a national political journalist.[29]
The couple married in 2019.
According to a Daily Mail article from August 5, 2020, they are expecting their first child next month.[95]
