On October 25, 2017, Harris and Koehn were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of their 4-month-old son, whose body was found covered in maggots in a baby swing at the family's home.

The couple were charged with child endangerment causing death, a class B felony, and first-degree murder. ^{[1] [0]}

The baby, weighing less than seven pounds, had maggots in various stages of development in his clothing and on his skin.

For more than a week, Sterling Koehn had not had a diaper change or bath, or been taken out of a powered baby swing inside one of the home's bedrooms. ^{[1] [0]}

Harris and Koehn are being held on $100,000 cash-only bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for November 2, 2017.
