On October 25, 2017, Harris and Koehn were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of their 4-month-old son, whose body was found covered in maggots in a baby swing at the family's home.

The baby, weighing less than seven pounds, had maggots in various stages of development in his clothing and on his skin.
