Wikipediametric Mailing List
The Wikipediametric Mailing List or Eastern European Mailing List (EEML) is a pressure group on Wikipedia whose e-mails got leaked by WikiLeaks to expose the corruption within Wikipedia. [1] Their activities include stalking and harassment of other Wikipedia editors (Wikipedians) and cabal tactics. [5]
The group, known to other Wikipedians as the "Eastern European Cabal" are mostly composed of Ukrainian, Polish, Estonian / Latvian and Romanian nationalists who influence Wikipedia to create propaganda against Russia. Their mailing list, also known as "Wikipedometer" (WPM), was released by WikiLeaks in September 2009, giving insight into the abuse of Wikipedia's editorial system for political purposes. [6]
The group was led by a with the username Digwuren (Andres Soolo) and included a member with the username Radeksz.
[3] Radeksz, real name Radek Szulga got banned for a year but continues to edit Wikipedia under the new username Volunteer Marek. [4]
Other Wikipedians exposed to be part of the group by Wikileaks incuded Biruitorul (Christian Suciu), Molobo, Hillock65 (Alex Hillock), Vercrumba (Peters J. Vercrumba), Piotrus (Piotr Konieczny), Poeticbent (Richard Tylman), Dc76 (Dorin Cheptra), Biophys-enwiki (Andrei L. In 2019, Haaretz journalist Omer Benjakob reported that Polish members of the former EEML group were still coordiniating on Wikipedia. The Polish-EEML group of far-right nationalist editors are active in rewriting content on The Holocaust on Wikipedia. They were involved in maintaining Wikipedia's longest hoax of a non-existent extermination camp (for Poles) in Warsaw for 15 years. They also downplayed Polish violence against Jews and exagerrated Polish rescue stories. Editors still involved include Poeticbent (Richard Tylman), Piotrus (Piotr Konieczny), Molobo, and Volunteer Marek (Radek Szulga).[7]
