Sarah Madden Fowlkes (born March 20,1990) is a former Teacher at Lockhart High School in Lockhart, Texas which is located about 35 miles southeast of Austin, Texas. In March 2017, she became infamous after being arrested for having an improper sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Student.

Sarah Fowlkes has been married since October 2013, according to her Facebook page. Sarah and her Husband live in New Braunfels, Texas, about 40 minutes outside of Lockhart. Both her and her husband are originally from Dripping Springs, Texas which is about 30 minutes outside Austin, Texas and an hour away from Lockhart. Her maiden name is Madden, according to online records. ^[1]

Sarah Fowlkes celebrated her 27th birthday on March 19, 2017 a day before her arrest. She updated her Instagram profile picture (her account is private) with a photo showing her celebrating the birthday with her husband at a restaurant. She is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks.

Sarah Fowkles had taught Anatomy, Physiology, and Environmental systems teacher at Lockhart High School a part of the Lockhart Independent School District. She had taught at the school for three years, starting in 2014. She previously taught at Plum Creek Elementary where she was a third and fifth grade Science and Social studies teacher.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. She started her teaching certification at the University of Texas at Austin under the UTeach program and completed her certification with A+ Texas State Teachers Association Alternative certification. She was certified to teach Early childhood through 6th grade Generalist and 7th through 12th grade Sciences.

On March 20, 2017 Sarah Fowlkes was arrested after police allege she engaged in an improper sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.

Sarah turned herself in at the Lockhart Police Station late Monday morning on a warrant and was booked into the Caldwell County Jail on the charge of improper relationship between educator and student, which is a second degree felony, according to a Lockhart Police Department press release.

According to the Police Department, officers received a report March 10, 2017 from a School administrator at Lockhart High School about a possible inappropriate relationship between a Student and a teacher. The investigation led a Lockhart detective to a 17-year-old male student, who had been in contact in Person and by message with Fowlkes. Their Contact was of a sexual nature, Police said.

School superintendent Susan Bohn asked parents to talk to their children about the arrest.

She also said “If any student or parent has information about this situation, please contact the Lockhart Police Department at 512-398-4401,” Bohn said.

Many news sites and social Media users were amused by the mugshot where Sarah was smiling. According to Dallas-Fort Worth's KXAS, Fowlkes' attorney Jason Nassour said she was smiling because she knows she is innocent.
