Biography
Early Life
Roddy Rich was born and raised in Compton, California. He often traveled to Chicago and Louisiana to visit family. He also has family in Atlanta, Mississippi, and.New York Even though he has family all over the country, he was always rooted in Compton.
When he was kid, he believed that rappers were synonymous with actors.
He never entrusted a belief of making money through music, and held his own reservations regarding any attempt of career.
He was more influenced by other people from his hometown who made money.
As a young kid, he listened to Lil Wayne. Other artists he grew up listening to are: Speaker Knockerz, FUTURE, and Young Thug.
Music
Some time in early 2016, he began to take rapping seriously and starting independently releasing music.
Several events in his personal life caused him to give a career in music a try, yet money was not one of them.
There were more people dying in his hometown and several of his friends got lost to prison.
Style
Much of the cadence that appears in Rich's vocal style in his rapping has intonations of Southern Rap according to some of his listeners.
Rich has attributed this perhaps for having a great-grandmother in Louisiana.

Some of his early releases can be dated back to 2015 according to his Soundcloud.
he has since had collaborations with many producers and rappers.
He has released two albums.
The first is called Feed tha Streets (2017) released by Bird Vision Entertainment. The other is a follow-up album called, Feed Tha Streets II.
Dream Chasers Records
In late October, 2018, he signed a $2 Million record deal with Dream Chasers Records, a record label owned and managed by Philadelphia rapper and renown American entrepreneur, Meek Mill.
