Richard J. Cross is a former Capitol Hill and Annapolis press secretary and speechwriter.

He is a regular contributor to such publications as The Baltimore Sun and Frederick News-Post, also regularly offers political commentary on his blog. [1]

Cross wrote the speech of Patricia Smith, the mother of an American killed in the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi, given at the 2016 Republican National Convention. [1]

On August 17, 2016, Cross wrote an op-ed for the The Baltimore Sun saying that he cannot vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election, and that he would rather vote for Hillary Clinton. [1]
