Early Life

Rich Piana was born in Northridge, California. He was raised in Northern California in and his mom was a bodybuilder. Inspired by his mother, Piana began training as a bodybuilder when he was 11 years old.

Piana entered his first competition when he was 15 years old where he failed to place.
After numerous failures, Piana turned to steroids to give him a boost.
Soon after, he placed 7th and 11th in national bodybuilding championships and was even named Mr. California in an interstate competition. He has won competitions, including the NPC California Championships, NPC Orange County Championships, NPC Los Angeles Championships, NPC Sacramento Championships and NPC Border States Classic. [9]
Steroid Use
In 2016, Piana openly admitted to using anabolic steroids. He had been injecting himself for more than 30 years and was part of his fitness regime which consisted of a Massive steroid cycle, nine meals a day, a series of intense workouts, and “protein shakes big enough to drown a toddler in”. He claimed nobody in the competitive bodybuilding industry could compete without using performance enhancing drugs. Along with taking steroids, he estimates that he was spending at his peak $2,500 on growth hormones per month.

Piana is famous for his Iconic saying "one day you may," which he also used for his Instagram username and official website URL. He worked on television series including NBC Scrubs and Ripley's Believe It or Not. He played himself in Tim Muriello & Rich Piana Interviews and Mutant: Leaving Humanity Behind. Piana was a stunt actor in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. Pianna amassed a massive following and as of August of 2017, he garnered 1.2 million followers on Instagram and over 600,000 subscribers on YouTube. On his social media Piana would post workout plans, diet tips, and his supplement business.
Death
On August 25, 2017, Rich was put into a medically-induced coma after overdosing in his home. On August 25, 2017, he died of unknown causes. Details of his death are murky.
Personal Life
From 2015 to 2016, Rich Piana was married to Sara Heimisdottir, an Icelandic fitness model. They eventually annulled their marriage in November 2016 after he claimed that she was stealing from him and concluding that the primary reason why she married him was to attain a green card.
Later in 2016, he rekindled his relationship with Chanel Jansen.
