Early Life
A Minnesota Show
Christian Bauhofer grew up in Minnesota and moved to Santa Cruz during his adolescence. Soon enough his nickname became "Minnesota" which he later used as his moniker because he could not think of a better name. He attended UC Santa Cruz for a year and held a part time job at Jamba Juice, but dropped out to pursue a music a career in music full-time.
Music
Minnesota describes his music as Bass Music with a psychedelic vibe. To create music, he uses Ableton with a bunch of soft synths. Since 2011, Minnesota has been playing shows and festivals around the world and releasing music frequently on his SoundCloud, an account in which he boasts over 131,000 followers as of February 2018. Minnesota has dropped four EPs including Ancient Machines (2011), Altered States (2012), Eternal Frequencies-Equinox (2013), and Voyager (2014). He has collaborated extensively with G Jones.
Personal Life
Minnesota currently lives in Berkeley, California. He is married to floral designer Emily Courtz.
