Mary Garrison Minyard is an American Reporter known for being the mother of Gabe Parker, the teenager known for being the main suspect in the school shooting of Marshall County High School. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Minyard is a native of Kentucky and has lived in several cities. She was married to Austin Parker whom she had a son, Gabe Parker. The couple divorced in 2007, when young Gabe was 5 years old. ^{[666666] [undefined]}

Austin Parker would share custody of young Dave and would remarry.

He married Jennifer Lynn Parker and would divorce on November

2016 after pleading guilty to domestic abuse as he slapped her across the face.

He received 90 days in prison.

On January 23, 2018, at around 7:57 a.m., a shooting took place at Marshall County High School, the high school where her son, Gabe Parker, is a student. ^[undefined] As news of the shooting began to take place, Minyard made her way to the school to make a report about the shooting. When she arrived, she soon learned that her son was in fact the shooter. ^[undefined]

Parker was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting two students with a handgun, and injuring dozens more at his school. ^[undefined]

The two people killed include a 15-year-old female student, Bailey Nicole Holt, who died at the scene, five of the other victims were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where another student, Preston Ryan Cope, later died. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Of the 14 people shot, two are battling gunshot wound to the head. Gage Smock was one of the wounded victims who was shot in the head. One of the wounded victims, Hannah Dysinger, publicly forgave Parker for his actions, and stated that she is praying for everyone involved in the tragedy. Another victim in the shooting, was special needs student Daniel Austin, who was hugging and high-fiving friends before being shot in the arm. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Parker was apprehended by police in a nonviolent manner.
