Larry Vickers is an American retired United States Army combat veteran with years of experience in the firearms industry as a combat marksmanship instructor and industry consultant. [3]He is also one of Delta Force's most recognized figures on the internet for his tutorials videos which helped his rise to popularity. [4]
Biography
Larry Vickers was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on June 8th, 1947. He is the son of a World War II veteran. Other sources have indicated that he also grew up in a small town in Ohio.
Since he was a young man he had a keen interest in the military and by the time he was in high school, he became involved in his high school's delayed-entry program for the U.S.
Army.
After graduating high school and completing its U.S.
Army program, he was given the opportunity to go through Infantry School, followed by Airborne School and then the Special Forces qualification course.
Following his successful graduation from all of these schools, Vickers was awarded the coveted Green beret and began his career in the Army.

After some time of being a part of the Green Beret, he briefly left active duty.
He later reenlisted and started to take on the arduous entrance exercise.
He had to complete a land-navigation course in the mountains of West Virginia alone with a 40-pound rucksack over an 18-mile course.
He also had to perform another land-navigation test in which the unofficial estimate of 95% of tryouts fail.
Vickers made the cut and became a Delta Force Operator.
For the next 20 years, Vickers was a part of the Delta Force and was involved in several of their top-secret missions.
Post-Army Career

After his retirement as an Operator in the Delta Force, he became a trainer and tactics instructor for Delta.
As a tactics and marksmanship instructor on active duty he helped train special operations personnel that later captured Saddam Hussein and eliminated his sons Uday and Qusay Hussein.
At the time, he hadtrained more Delta and Tier One operators in combat marksmanship skills than any other person in U.S.
Special Operations history.
Vickers was directly involved in the design and development of the Heckler & Koch HK416 for Tier One SOF use, which was used by Naval Special Warfare personnel to kill Osama bin Laden. Larry Vickers has developed various small arms accessories, with the most notable being his signature sling manufactured by Blue Force Gear, Glock accessories by Tangodown, and 1911 specific products by Wilson Combat. In addition he has maintained strong relationships with premium companies within the firearms industry such as Blue Force Gear, BCM, Aimpoint, CCWSafe, Wilson Combat, and Tangodown. He has developed and offered a line of Vickers Tactical Glock pistols sold exclusively thru Lipseys Inc.
Larry also travels the country conducting combat marksmanship classes for law abiding civilians, law enforcement and military.
