Snapchat story

In September 2017, Barrett and another naval nurse, Allyson Jeanette Thompson, were removed from patient care after video and photos showing them inappropriately handling a newborn at Naval Hospital Jacksonville went viral on social media. [1]

Thompson is seen in the video first uploaded to Snapchat, forcing a newborn baby to dance to 50 Cent's song In da Club. “We’re going to hell,” Joanie Barrett is also heard saying filming the video. [1]

The hospital stated that both Barrett and Thompson will face legal action.
