Gang Rape
Jaborian Mckenzie and Brandon Vandenburg gang raped Vandenburg's unconscious girlfriend with their teammates, Cory Batey and Brandon Banks on June 23, 2013. The gang rape took place on campus in Vanderburg's dorm room in the Gilette Dorm at Vanderbilt. Vandenburg took photos and videos of the rape which he shared with friends. [666666]
A source close to one of the defendants said that Vanderbilt coach James Franklin tried to cover up the rape and told a player to delete a video from the gang rape after the player showed it to Franklin. [666666]
In June 2015, Mckenzie was charged and convicted of aggravated rape, attempted aggravated rape and aggravated sexual battery charges.
Judge Monte Watkins declared a mistrial and set aside the convictions because one of the jurors had failed to disclose that he himself had been a victim of rape.
Football Career after the Rape
After being charged for his involvement gang rape in 2013, Jaborian Mckenzie was dismissed from Vanderbilt University and the school's football team. [undefined]
Soon after being charged, McKenzie transferred, and played for the Alcorn State University football team for part of the 2013 season. After the school received negative media attention, McKenzie was dismissed from the team but stayed a student at the school. [undefined]

Alcorn State University football coach, Jay Hopson insisted that McKenzie was innocent. He said that "From everything I've gotten, from every resource, this kid is 100 percent innocent," and that "I can't find anything that says this kid is guilty." [undefined]
