Holly Conrad is an American Cosplay Actress and Costume Designer based in Los Angeles, California.
Early Life
Holly grew up in Redlands, Calif. and is the granddaughter of Disney and Don Bluth animator Dorse A. Lanpher. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a degree with honors in Medieval History. During her time in school, she studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh where she specialized in folk magic and Medieval Literature.
Career
Holly runs the YouTube channel, Commander Holly, where she uploads videos of her playing video games, cosplay tutorials, and daily vlogs. As of Septemeber 2017, she had over 268K subscribers as well as 207K followers on Instagram and 223K followers on Twitter. She has been featured in Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope (2011), Cosplayer Nation (2014) and Gamer Age (2014).
Holly is known for cosplaying as Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect series created by BioWare. Holly was Bioware's official Commander Shepard during 2011 and 2012. She also created multiple costumes based off of the series, including Grunt and Wrex.
A a FX Artist, some of Holly's mostnotable work includes designing and creating a Kaiju for the promotional video Pacific Rim - Training Day and various creatures for a series of videos entitled The Four Players.
She worked on other projects such as the Polaris Network show The Holodeck, and the Adult Swim show Titan Maximum.
Personal Life
Holly Conrad married Ross O'Donovan on September 29, 2012.
She owns many animation cels from The Secret of NIMH (1982), as well as cels from Space Ace (1983) and the opening sequence from Dragon's Lair (1983).
Holly loves birds.
