Garrett Rolfe (Police Officer) is an American police officer who formerly worked with the Atlanta Police Department. He received national media attention after he was fired for being involved in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks on June 12, 2020. ^{[1] [3]}

On Wednesday June 17, 2020, Officer Garret Rolfe was charged with felony murder and several counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the killing of Rayshard Brooks. ^[6]

Rolfe had been with the Atlanta Police Department since 2013.

Rayshard Brooks had resisted arrest and wrested a taser from one officer as he wrestled with two police officers and punched one of them. He fled with the taser and a foot chase commenced, and Brooks aimed and fired the stolen Taser at an officer, who then shot Brooks with his sidearm. ^[3]

Video of the incident went viral on social media. Atlanta Chief of Police Erika Shields resigned the next day, saying she wanted to help rebuild trust in the community. ^[4]

During the early hours of June 14, 2020, Officer Garrett Wolfe had been fired and another officer, Devin Brosnan, had been placed on administrative duty. ^[3] An estimated 150 protesters marched outside the Wendy’s restaurant outside where Rayshard Brooks was shot. ^[5]
