Gabe Parker is a student at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky. In January 2018, Parker committed a school shooting at his high school leaving two students dead, and at least 15 others injured.

On January 23, 2018, Parker was taken into custody after allegedly fatally shooting two students with a handgun, and injuring dozens more at his school.

The shooting started at 7:57 a.m. shortly after Parker entered the school's common area.

The two people killed include a 15-year-old female student, Bailey Nicole Holt, who died at the scene, five of the other victims were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where another student, Preston Ryan Cope, later died.

Of the 14 people shot, two are battling gunshot wound to the head. Gage Smock was one of the wounded victims who was shot in the head. One of the wounded victims, Hannah Dysinger, publicly forgave Parker for his actions, and stated that she is praying for everyone involved in the tragedy. Another victim in the shooting, was special needs student Daniel Austin, who was hugging and high-fiving friends before being shot in the arm.

Parker was apprehended by police in a nonviolent manner.

The day before, Chad Padilla was arrested in another school shooting in Italy, Texas.

Parker will be charged with murder and attempted murder. The county attorney will ask for Parker to be tried as an adult.

Parker was charged with two counts of murder and 12 counts of first degree assault.
