On November 28, 2017, Lincoln, Nebraska police announced that they are seeking Boswell and Aubrey C. Trail in connection to the disappearance of Sydney Loofe.
Loofe missed work on November 16, 2017 at the Menards in north Lincoln after apparently going on a date the night before with someone she met online.
A friend of Loofe’s, Terra Gehrig, stated she had gotten a text from Loofe on November 15, 2017, saying she had gone on a date the night before with a woman she met online.
It went well, Loofe told Gehrig, and the pair was planning to go out again that night.
Police confirmed she was last seen in Wilber, Nebraska on November 15, 2017.
Loofe's car and cat, Nimzy, were left at her home in northeast Lincoln, but her phone pinged off a cellphone tower in the Wilber area and has since been disabled.
On November 30, 2017, both Boswell and Trail were taken into custody and being questioned by officials.
Both were arrested on unrelated charges to Loofe's disappearance.
Prior to their arrest, Boswell posted a video to her Facebook account in which she appears with Trail, and stating they do not have anything to do with Loofe's disappearance.
Boswell goes on to say that she met Loofe on a Tuesday after matching with each other on Tinder, drove around Lincoln, Nebraska while smoking marijuana. They then continued to smoke more marijuana in the form of wax at Boswell's residence. Boswell then drove Loofe to a friend's house where she dropped her off.
On December 4, 2017, the family of Loofe announced that her body was discovered.
Both Boswell and Aubrey Trail remain in the Saline County jail on a hold for the U.S. Marshals Service.
Trail and Boswell hadn't been publicly accused of any crimes related to her disappearance.
