Criminal history
In the state of Iowa, Aubrey was arrested and charged with theft of the third degree in 1999 and had addition run-ins with the law in relation to theft. He was once arrested and charged with second-degree theft and sentenced to serve a 5-year prison sentence.
He also has a number of traffic citations in Missouri. In 2010, Trail was sentenced to a 4-year prison sentence in Missouri for passing multiple bad checks. He was also placed on unsupervised probation for two years and ordered to pay a $750 fine. He owed $1,560 in restitution to Lekin Auction Company for writing a check with a closed bank account.

On November 28, 2017, Lincoln, Nebraska police announced that they were seeking Aubrey and Bailey Boswell in connection to the disappearance of Sydney Loofe.
Loofe missed work on November 16, 2017 at the Menards in north Lincoln after apparently going on a date the night before with Bailey Boswell, whom she met online.
A friend of Loofe’s, Terra Gehrig, stated she had gotten a text from Loofe on November 15, 2017, saying she had gone on a date the night before with a woman she met online.
It went well, Loofe told Gehrig, and the pair was planning to go out again that night.
Police confirmed she was last seen in Wilber, Nebraska on November 15, 2017.
Loofe's car and cat, Nimzy, were left at her home in northeast Lincoln, but her phone pinged off a cellphone tower in the Wilber area and has since been disabled.
On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, he claimed he was accountable and responsible for Loofe's death, yet provided no further details.
