Walker Forehand is Director of the consulting firm Promontory Financial Group. He lives in Washington, D.C.

Forehand is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Walker focuses on client matters involving banking strategy, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, loan and asset valuation, retail and commercial credit, and various regulatory challenges facing banks and thrifts.

He also specializes in strategy and corporate development for Promontory Financial Group. In this capacity, Walker helps source and evaluate strategic investments, acquisitions, and partnership opportunities.

Prior to joining Promontory, Walker was a principal investor at Hovde Capital Advisors, a hedge fund focused on making equity investments in depository institutions and other financial services companies.

He began his career at Hovde, where he was responsible for the analysis and valuation of investment opportunities in bank and thrift stocks.

He sourced potential deals, performed credit and financial due diligence, and worked on bank mergers and acquisitions for the fund’s portfolio companies.

Walker served on the board of directors of two of those portfolio companies, Sunwest Bancorp and Concord Wealth Management.
