Viceroy is an American Electronic music producer who is based in San Francisco. ^[4]He originally hails from Connecticut. His music has been characterized as Tropical house. ^[9]

Viceroy first started getting into making music in 2009 while he was studying abroad in Rome. He drunkenly asked a manager at a club one night for a job, and they gave him live sets on Tuesday nights. From their, Viceroy quickly learned how to use Ableton. ^[5]

Viceroy rose in popularity on SoundCloud with his "Jet Life" series which featured R&B remixes of R. Kelly’s “Ignition,” Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me,” and Ginuwine’s “Pony,” and given each song a whole different, upbeat electronic aesthetic. ^[5]
