Ulysses Wilkerson is an American 17 year-old teenager from Troy who's injury from the beating he received by Police Officers while in handcuffs went viral after. His mother, Angela Williams, shared a photo of her son's injury while he laid on the hospital bed that has since been shared nearly 81 thousand times. ^{[5] [5]}

Wilkerson was born and raised in the state of Alabama by parents Sadot Wilkerson and Angela Williams. He has lived in the city of Troy for most of his life. ^{[6] [11]}

On the evening of Sunday, December 23rd, 2017, Ulysses Wilkerson and another were in the Downtown area of Troy at around 11:52 p.m. as they found themselves walking behind a closed business.

^[1]Police Officer Brandon Hicks and another officer approached the two teens as they got closer, Ulysses and his friend ran. ^[12]The officers caught up to Ulysses and made the arrest. The officers began to assault Ulysses and received injuries to his face including a fracture. ^[6]

According to reports, the police used force to make the arrest as they believed that he was reaching for their waistband.

A witness by the name of Brittany Patterson has given an account that the officers surrounded Ulysses while he was fading in and out of consciousness.

Ulysses Wilkerson was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center and then to the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham, according to a statement released by The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation.

Ulysses has suffered trauma and swelling to his brain along with a cracked eye socket.
