Todd Orr is an outdoorsman and knife-maker from Montana. Todd Orr earned a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management from Montana State University. He is the owner of Skyblade Knives.

Bear Attack and Survival

On October 1, a Grizzly bear with 2 cubs attacked Orr from about 80 yards away. The onslaught happened in the Madison Valley Formation in southwest Montana. ^[1] Orr fended off the bear by using Bear spray, and after a few minutes of biting and attacking him, the bear ran away.

Ten minutes into walking back to his truck that was three miles away, the grizzly spotted him again and attacked him for a second time.

During the second assault by the bear, Todd testified that "one bite on my forearm went through to the bone and I heard a crunch. My hand instantly went numb and wrist and fingers were limp and unusable...Another couple bites to my head and a gash opened above my ear, nearly scalping me."

Todd jogged back to his truck and made his way back into town.

Along the way he stopped at a rancher's house to call the hospital.

The extent of his injuries includes a chip out of the ulna bone in the forearm, a 5'' gash on the side of his head, arm and shoulder punctures and tears, numerous bruises along his back, torso, buttocks, and shoulders, and facial abrasions.
