Teresa Watanabe is an American journalist based in Los Angeles, California. She is a reporter at the Los Angeles Times, covering education. ^[1]

Teresa Watanabe graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in journalism and East Asian languages and culture.

She joined the Los Angeles Times in 1989, and has covered immigration, ethnic communities, religion, Pacific Rim business and served as Tokyo correspondent and bureau chief.

Watanabe also covered Asia, national affairs and state government for the San Jose Mercury News and wrote editorials for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner.
