Taliesin Myrddin Namkai Meche was a college graduate of Reed College. On May 26, 2017 Taliesen and Ricky John Best were killed while defending two Muslim women from white supremacist, Jeremy Christian. ^[1]

Taliesin was in a relationship with Ellie Lawr at the time of his death. Taliesen attended Ashland High School (Oregon) from 2008 - 2010. He later transferred to Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California graduating in 2012.

After high school, Taliesin went on to attend Reed College where he majored in Economics. ^[1]

On May 26, 2017, while aboard a MAX train approaching the Hollywood, Portland, Oregon Transit Center at around 4:30 p.m. local time, Jeremy Christian was yelling hateful statements at two Muslim girls, one of whom was wearing a hijab. ^[1]

Taliesin and Ricky John Best came to the women's defense, one of them identified as Taliesin, and were then stabbed to death by Christian. ^[1]

A third person was also stabbed and was transported to a local hospital who was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Christian was heard yelling, "Get off the bus, and get out of the country because you don't pay taxes here."

After the train stopped moving, Christian was also heard cursing and stated, "This is free America, I can do whatever I want." ^[1]

Officers arrested Christian as he ran from the Hollywood transit station into the neighborhood near Providence Portland Medical Center. ^[1]

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has also offered its resources to help Portland police with the investigation. ^[1]
