Steven Caple Jr. is an American Filmmaker known for his directional debut, The Land, a film about a group of teenagers who one summer pursue a professional career in skateboarding.

Early Life
Education
Film director and Cleveland native Steven Caple Jr. visits his former high school.
After graduating high school he left his hometown and moved to Berea where he
attended Baldwin Wallace College. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film studies and his B.A. in Marketing. During his time at the college, he was the Producer/Director of BuzzTV. He was also a part of extracurricular activities and clubs such as the Hispanic American Student Association and Black Student Alliance. [1]
After graduating from Baldwin Wallace College, he was accepted to take part of the USC School Of Cinematic Arts..
He received his MFA in 2013.
His Activities and Societies included: Graduate Student Council.
Black Alumni Association Scholarship Recipient.
African Cinema Society.

Steven Caple Jr.. first demonstrated his interest in filmmaking while in high school, a time in his life he appears to explore in a lot of his works. A writer and producer in his own projects, he is currently working on a Docuseries for Netflix and a project about Emmit Till for HBO.

Feature Films
In 2016, his Crime/Drama film, The Land , was screened at the Cannes film festival via a distribution of IFC. The film was later acquired for international sales rights by Film Constellation. The film has appearances from entertainers such as Erykah Badu and Machine Gun Kelly.
The soundtrack includes music by Nas and Kanye West.
Personal Life
Caple Jr. lives in Los Angeles, California where he is currently a full-time filmmaker for Netflix and HBO.
In late 2017, he was chosen to be part of the 2018 edition of Forbes 30 Under 30.
