She was also a devoted soccer mom and took care of her husband’s aging parents.
Her family remembers her as "fiery, vivacious and tough as nails."
A local grocery store clerk described her as funny and kind, even after seeing her just a few times.
Death
On the evening of October 1, 2017, Parks was killed in a mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Resort. She attended the concert with her husband, Vinnie, a San Francisco police officer.
According to her brother-in-law, Al Etcheber, Vincent told Stacee and the couple’s three friends to protect themselves behind a nearby barrier.
Just before the second round of shots rang out, he then told them to run while he rushed to help another victim who was shot in front of them.
The Ciaobella hair salon wrote a Facebook post mourning her loss:
The Ciao Bella Salon family is in deep mourning over the loss of our beloved friend, Stacee Etcheber. She made the salon shine with her joyful personality and strength of character. Ciao Bella will not be the same without her. She was a friend to all and an adoring mother. We ask that we please be left to grieve in private, alongside her family who we send our sincerest condolences to. Stacee, we will miss you every day*.*
Two other San Francisco residents were killed in the incident, as well: Michelle Vo and Denise Cohen.
A candlelight vigil was held for her Tuesday night at San Ramon Elementary School in Novato, the school her daughter attends.
A GoFundMe was created in support of the Etcheber family. They have raised over $190,000 in two days.
