Following brief stints in medical research and finance, Hashmi began his Journalism career in earnest in 2013 when he joined Sports entertainment Network as Entertainment Director and Sports Analyst. After a year, Hashmi joined millenial video news startup GVH Live, where he served as the Washington, D.C. Bureau Chief. Concurrently, Hashmi worked as an Associate Producer for Sirius XM from 2014 to 2016. Hashmi then served as Assistant Editor at Red Alert Politics from 2016 to 2017, and remained on staff as the site merged with the Washington Examiner in late 2017.
