Shirley Hewitt (born in England in August 1929 as Shirley Poncin) is the ex-wife of the late John Hewitt and the mother of James Hewitt, Syta (Hewitt) Smith and Caroline Hewitt. James was known for his lengthy affair with Princess Diana. John was a pentathlete in the 1952 Summer Olympics and was a senior British military officer.^[28][29]

Shirley Hewitt told reporters from various magazines and news crews that Princess Diana stayed with her son numerous times at her cottage in Devon, England. She sold her story of Princess Diana and her son to Hello! for 40,000 pounds^[30]

Hewitt stated in a television interview that she was interviewed by a detective and that royal protection officers stayed at her cottage when her son James stayed there with his girlfriend princess Diana.

She was quoted as saying:

The royal wedding of Charles,Prince of Wales and Princess Diana has 4.9 milion views on Youtube. Princess Diana told the Hewitt family that her marriage to Prince Charles was for "show" and that Charles had been seeing his ex-girlfriend Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for years.^[20]

There is still a widely accepted rumor that Prince Harry is the son of James Hewitt, not Prince Charles. James Hewitt slept at the royal residences of Kensington Palace and Highgrove House before his deployment to the Gulf War as a major in the British Army.^[11]

In 2019, Harry lived in Frogmore Cottage on the Frogmore House estate with his wife Meghan Markle and their baby Archie.^[17] In April 2020, Harry was living with his wife in Los Angeles, California.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a dramatic move when the royal couple announced in January 2020 that they intend to “step back as senior members of the Royal Famil and stated they were making plans to split their time between the U.K. and North America.

It was announced that they will no longer use the HRH titles and are no longer working members of the royal family.

As of October 2021 Prince Harry lives in California with his wife and two children.
