Youngry's interview with Ryan Rafols (circa 2017)
As an entrepreneur and business executive, Ryan Rafols' career started as a child. At the age of 6, he started his first entrepreneurial endeavor of selling rocks. Using a sledgehammer, he cracked open rocks and sold fool's gold, crystals, and quartz.
When he was in middle school, he used to buy energy drinks. His mom gave him about $20 a day and he would spend it all on energy drinks and sell them to students for $5 to $10 apiece. The school eventually shut him down after a student chugged three of them before an exam on taxes.
By the time he was 17 years old, he started one of the first used textbooks resale companies. He bought books from students and Used bookstores and sold them on Amazon for a larger return.

In addition, he also serves as the Director of the University of Texas City Relations Agency and is a member of the Board of Directors for University Area Business Partners and the Mayor's Task Force. [1]
