Ryan Holets is an American Police officer in New Mexico known for adopting the baby of a homeless Heroin addicted woman he found behind a gas station. During his State of the Union by Donald Trump he commended Holets' act of kindness during his speech about the Opioid epidemic in the U.S.
Biography
Ryan Holets has been a native of the state of New Mexico for most of his life. He currently lives in the city of Albuquerque with his wife Rebecca and their four children.
Education
Some time after high school, he attended and graduated from Central New Mexico Community College with an Associate's degree in Aeronautics/
Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology as well as General education at the college.
Career
About a year of graduating from college and the police academy, he began working for Albuquerque Police Department as a Police officer. He has been a part of the department for more than 6 years and is heralded as one of the finest officers.
In The Media
Holets became a media sensation for being a police officer who took a chance along with his wife to adopt the baby of a heroin addict.
He has since been covered by major news about the adoption as well as a story of a man who's effort of doing his part in solving the Opioid epidemic in the United States is seen as an act of kindness. The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has expressed his affection for the officer.

On September 23rd, 2017, while Officer Holets was out on an assignment he came across two homeless people in the back of a gas station about to shoot up Heroin. Officer Holets quickly noticed that the woman about to shoot up was actually pregnant at the time. She was eight months pregnant.
The conditions of the woman had an effect on officer Holets especially when she described her love for the child and that she was desperately looking for someone to adopt her.
He was affected by the love that Crystal Champ demonstrated to Holets.
Officer Holets discussed with his wife the possibility of adoption, and they both agreed to go through with it.
State of the Union January 2018
On the night of the State of the Union address that took place on January 30th, 2018, Officer Holets, his wife, and their adopted, Baby Hope, were invited to the event.
President Donald Trump mentioned Officer Holets in his speech and spoke of the officer as an example of human kindness.
