Micah Javon Cooper (born May 7, 1996), known professionally as Rxchie (pronounced "Richie"), is an American singer, songwriter, actor, entrepreneur and former gridiron football player born in Paris, France, and raised in Oakland, California. He is best known for his song with New
Orleans rapper, Kevin Gates, "LMFO", and his song "Love More" which has amassed nearly 9 million plays on Soundcloud within 3 weeks and peaked at
number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Early Life
As a young child, he watched "The Jacksons: An American Dream" and fell in love with music.
Cooper taught himself to sing and dance at a young
age and began to perform in his church choir and in several local talent shows. At same time, he started a music group with three friends. He
spent most of his time at school trying to write his own music and become relevant. By the age of fourteen, he started singing and got very
interested in rapping. Cooper played football for the Los Angeles Romans. His
football skills earned him a scholarship to play for the Jackson State Tigers at Jackson State University, but he decided instead to focus more on music. After finishing high school, he supported himself by working at the local library and Pizza Hut. He was able to earn enough money to produce his first song which he then sent to dozens of radio stations.
Career
Cooper initially gained notability following the release of his debut single, "Tings", which peaked at number 6 on the numberonemusic
chart for 7 weeks.
Someone at Disney heard the song and decided to add it to radio Disney's incubator program, which features upcoming
musicians. Cooper became even more well-known after a large number of artists remixed his singles "Love More" and "10 toes down challenge" and made them
even more popular.
He has then performed at several venues across the country including, The House Of Blues, Bradley Center and the NavPier. For Give Back: 2018, cooper donated $10,000 to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Alongside his work in the music industry, Rxchie has pursued an acting career.
In 2013, he made his on-screen feature film debut in Antisocial.
Throughout his career, Cooper has won several awards, including a AAFCA award, a Emmy Award and was a Nominee for the CinemaCon Award.

Cooper has cited a number of artists as his inspiration such as Bryson Tiller, PartyNextDoor, SZA, Kehlani and The Weeknd. Music critics have commended Cooper's introduction to R&B, recognizing his modern day adaptations as well as versatility.
Business ventures
In 2018, he launched a clothing line called RXCH.
