Rubia Garcia is a social influencer and activist in the community of New Orleans known for taking to social media to discuss the socio-cultural issues and challenges occurring in the United States. She is a teacher, dance instructor, and dancer.

Rubia Garcia was born and grow up in New Orleans. She is from Irish and Italian descent. At an early age, she began to study the art of Jazz and Classical music. She attended and graduated from Edna Karr High School.
During her teen, Garcia was in love with the music and the rhythm of Latin music.
After that in 2001, she began training with Aurelio Gonzales, a Cuban-born Salsero.
Again she took training from Troy Anthony and Jorjet Alocer, the world class trainer and performer and made her dancing skill even better in 2004.
In 2006, she lived in Dominican Republic to learn Spanish and other several Latin music and dances such as- Merengue, Cha Cha, and Bachata - which she practices a lot.

She attended and graduated from Louisiana State University where she studied Criminal justice. She also graduated from the University of Holy Cross with degrees in Geography and History.

After learning such music and dancing, she then returned to her hometown.
Right after returning she had a desire to teach dance to the youths of New Orleans which she did teaching in the primary schools of black people.
Furthermore, she renovated many dance school which was destroyed by the natural disaster.
After that, she established her own dance school company named, Soul II Sole and traveled the globe and began to perform in every visited place.
She gave more than a decade of time in dancing.
Rubia is now one of the respectable and significant members of the dance community of New Orleans.
Due to her talent and dedication, she is now re-known as 'La Rubia.' The passionate dancer, Rubia has made the Latin dancing alive.

She is also a teacher at Orleans Parish Public Schools where she has devoted her love and passion to teaching her students.
On social media, she has posted a few videos where she talks about the struggles that her students face each day such as Racism, Socioeconomic issues, and gang violence.
She has started a GoFundMe in the past to help some of her students who live in the harsh parts of the NOLA neighborhood. The fundraiser was dedicated to her classroom, that is, all the necessary things needed throughout the year. As she writes, the money she raised went to the following: "school supplies, classroom necessities, academic materials, sponsorships for student budgets (field trips, graduation, etc), school uniforms\ clothes, hygiene products, rewards, transportation (bus tickets), and necessities that arise as needed."

Rubia Garcia has two children, a girl, and a boy.
However, not much is known about her dating life and affairs.
She has not opened up to the media about her personal life regarding relationships.
Even on her Instagram, she hasn't posted any photo which might have suggested about her relationship status.
She has said that she has earned her last name, Garcia, as she deserves the man she is married to.
Going Viral
Throughout 2016, Rubia began to use Facebook live as a way to express some of the racist and volatile social conditions that emerged around the country. She has garnered millions of views on her videos. She has offered her opinions about Bigotry, Internet Trolls, Bullying, Donald Trump, and so on with other videos that may or may not have similar themes. Yet, she also posts Facebook live videos of herself at dance practice, and has also done videos where she speaks about different topic other than social justice.
"Acting Black"
Due to the enormous following that has garnered since sharing her thoughts through the Facebook live medium, she has received hundreds of hateful messages, among them of how she tends to "act black".
She made a response video that went viral where she talks about her personality and her background.
She admits that she's thick skinned due to the fact that she grew up with about 8 siblings.
