Rich DeMuro

Rich DeMuro is a tech reporter for KTLA-TV Channel 5 in Los Angeles and appears on the No-1 rated KTLA Morning News. Viewers around the nation know him as “Rich on Tech” and his segment is syndicated on dozens of Tribune TV stations. Every week, Rich shares tech news, tips and gadget reviews with news programs in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, New Orleans, Indianapolis, San diego and more.[10]

Education and Early Life

Rich DeMuro is originally from New Jersey and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Broadcast journalism.[10]

Career

Rich has been a TV reporter for over 15 years and has covered technology for a majority of that time. Prior to joining KTLA, Rich was a Senior Editor at the technology website CNET and worked as a reporter at Channel One News and local TV stations in Yakima, Washington and Shreveport, Louisiana. Recently, Rich won a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award for his coverage of social issues related to technology. [14][16]

DeMuro as a Reporter at KNDO-TV

He worked at KNDO-TV for a year where he performed live-shots daily, covered breaking news events, enterprised story ideas and worked as a team player to meet daily production deadlines. He left KNDO-TV in 2002.

DeMuro as a Reporter at KTAL-TV

He joined KTAL-TV in 2002 and his resposiblility is to arrange for TV-inspired segments to run on area’s top rated talk radio station and as a column for three area newspapers and magazines. He left KTAL-TV in 2005

DeMuro as an Anchor/Reporter at Channel One News

He Joined Channel One News in 2005 and he served as their National correspondent during his service. He also anchored the Peabody Award-winning daily TV news program seen by millions of teenagers in middle and high schools nationwide.

DeMuro as a Senior Editor at CNET networks

He worked at Cnet for a year and his responsibility is to ceate video reports and blog posts on tech news and products for internet and TV, created, produced and hosted topical tech show "The Queue". He also serve as a guest tech expert for various media outlets including NBC’s Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, CNBC and BBC. He was theNYC bureau chief before he left in 2007.

DeMuro as a Reporter at KCBS

He worked at KCBS between 2007 and 2008, and he was able to perfom extensive daily live shots within this one year. Here, he used interactive web tools to create unique on-air segments, produced a video podcast and blogged regularly.

DeMuro as an Editor at Techmeme

Since Techmeme is known for tech stories and issues trending currently, DeMuro helped in curating the articles that will make it to the front page and helped determine their placement.

DeMuro as a Tech Reporter at KTLA

He joined KTLA since 2011. He has been producing and hosting a syndicated tech segment that airs on numerous TV stations nationwide. He always perform 25 liveshots each morning three times every week to present his stories and interact with anchors from TV stations across the country.[15]

Personal Life

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and sons and enjoys traveling, reading, running, magic, movies, music and writing. Rich DeMuro loves performing constant research and evaluating the latest gadget, apps and tech trends. He also write articles and books on tech trends.

Social Media

He currently has a YouTube channel where he uploads videos of latest tech trends. His channel has close to 18,000 subscribers and his videos has an average of 400,000 views.[12]

He joined the Twitter community in 2007 with the handle @richdemuro, and he presently has 37.4k followers[13]. On Instagram,he shared cool new gadgets, tech tips and his life activities. He currently has 81.5k followers and close to 1200 posts.[11]
