Phutureprimitive is an American Electronic music producer based out of San Francisco. Phutureprimitive is a moniker for the name he identifies with, Rain.

As a child, Rain would play the piano and his interest in music would lead him to use electronic-based instruments.

He began to produce tracks in the 1990s and developed a foundation for himself to become Phutureprimitive.

In 2004, he released his debut album Sub Conscious which today is widely regarded as a cult classic.

Phutureprimitive has been touring and releasing music off his record label he started, Native Harmonix ever since, and has garnered a dedicated legion of patrons.

Phutureprimitive's music has been described as Psychill and emphasizes samples, melody, bass-lines, and strong percussion in a lower tempo to create his own signature down-tempo brand of electronica.
