Philip Rucker is a political analyst and a Member of the White House press corps. He is currently the White House Bureau Chief at The Washington Post.

In June 2005, Rucker joined the WashingtonPost as a Metro intern. One year later, he began to work full-time for them as a reporter.
In October 2007, he Maryland state politics.
In April 2008, he covered social change as a philanthropy reporter.

In November 2008, Rucker moved to national politics.
He and other members of his team gained recognition when they were nominated as Pulitzer Prize finalists for their coverage of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting.
In November 2010, Rucker became a Congressional Correspondent.
During this time when he covered the 2012 Mitt Romney presidential campaign. He held the position until November 2012.
After the 2012 U.S. presidential election, Rucker became a White House correspondent; he served that position for one year.
In January 2014, his position changed to National Political Correspondent.
During his tenure, he served as one of the lead reporters for the 2016 United States Presidential election.
As of January 2017, he is the Washington Post's White House Bureau Chief.
