Peter Mims

Peter Mims is a 23-year-old sailor in the United States Navy. He is from Interlachen, Florida and is a fan of Dragon Ball Z. [undefined]

Mims enlisted in the Navy in February 2014 and reported to Shiloh in August of that year.

He was advanced to petty officer third class in August 2015, according to the release.

Mims has earned the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, and Sea Service Ribbon. Mims was frocked to petty officer third class in May of 2017. [1]

On the evening of June 8th around 9:30 pm, Peter was reported missing and assumed to have gone overboard.

The cruiser that he was stationed on, the USS Shiloh, was conducting routine operations 180 miles east of Okinawa, Japan. Helicopters and other aircraft from the Shiloh, USS McCampbell and aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan joined a P-8 maritime patrol aircraft in searching, while five U.S. Navy ships joined Japanese navy and coast guard vessels in more than 50 hours of searching over about 5,500 square miles. Found

The search for Peter ended June 13th when he was found in one of the engine rooms.

He was transported to the USS Ronald Reagan for a medical evaluation. The Navy is investigating the incident. [1]
