It takes a passion for makeup to be successful as a beauty editor.
What more does it also take to be successful in her line of work?
One of the biggest misconceptions about beauty editors is that they sit and try out makeup all day long.
It is absolutely true that testing (and researching) beauty products (be it in the lab, personally or sharing-listening-to experiences) is part of the job, but there's much more to it.
A beauty editor also needs to be able to demonstrate that she or he has the ability to write, edit, do market work (including thorough target market research), help market products in advertising, promotions, online trending, 'find plus work with celebrity endorsements,' help spot top modeling talent, setup and utilize photo sessions - and much more.
For fun and to keep work-life from being too predictable, she characterizes herself as a skincare snob, highlighter hoarder and Ashtangi [2]in the making.
[4]So if you happen to work with her, make sure you lock your highlighters in your desk at all times and don't forget to bring a Yoga mat with you to work. Yoga has actually been shown to fight stress and help people find serenity, including at work. [3]
Ms. Punjabi discovered model and medical student Raudha Athif as part of Vogue India's Oct 2016 "Diversity through Strength" issue.
