Early Life
Motoki Maxted grew up in Akron, Ohio to a Japanese mother named Kumi Maxted and an American pastor named Mitch Maxted. [17] [26] He attended Wauseon High School, a distinguished School in the Fulton County, Ohio area, and graduated in 2015. He participated in many activities, including: Theatre, Speech and Debate, and Student Government. He has also learned to speak Spanish and is fluent in Japanese. [11]
Education
In addition to the comedy content he pushes, Motoki attends Loyola Marymount University. He is pursuing a B.A. in Film & Television Production. As a freshman he has earned the respect of his fellow peers as he manages the social media for the campus television (TV) station, ROAR. [11]
Career
Motoki published his first video February 24, 2013, called "10 Things We've All Done".
[28] For almost three years, Motoki has created and curated sketch comedy videos that have garnered him more than 400,000 subscribers. [1] [1] He uploads at least two new videos weekly and has more than 100,000 followers on Facebook. [17] His sister, Manami Maxted, appeared in his "Smoothie Challenge" video. His mother has also made appearanes in Motoki's videos, with "Another Car Ride with Motoki" racking up over 19,000,000 views.[55]
Motoki is the Internet marketing consultant for a YouTube company called storybooth. He helps them with metrics, traffic, and user acquisition while building clients for future business opportunities. The YouTube channel Storybooth, merges personal stories with creative illustrations. [27]
As an actor, Motoki has appeared in Anime Crimes Division (2017), Millennials: The Musical (2016) and Broken. [54]
Plagiarism
In February 2016, Motoki released a video concerning the plagiarism involved in another user who stole and copied his content in France. [12] [24] [8] The users CE QUE LES MECS AIMENT CHEZ LES FILLES video was copied from Motoki's Things Guys Like About Girls.
