Molly Ball is a National Political Correspondent at Time Magazine, where she covers national politics. In 2012, Molly was awarded the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting for her coverage of the presidential campaign.

Early Life & Education

Molly Ball grew up in Idaho and Colorado.

She graduated from Yale University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in English and Literature. She was also a 2009 recipient of the Knight-Wallace journalism fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Journalism Career

Molly Ball previously reported for POLITICO, the Las Vegas Review-Journal , and the Las Vegas Sun . She has worked at newspapers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Cambodia, as well as the New York Times, the Washington Post and** The Atlantic.

She currently works for Time Magazine, covering U.S. politics.

Awards & Accomplishments

Molly is a recipient many awards for her journalism efforts.

These awards include the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting (2012), the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi Award, the Sandy Hume Memorial Award for Excellence in Political Journalism, and the Lee Walczak Award for Political Analysis.

In January 2013, her article, "The Marriage Plot: Inside This Year's Epic Campaign for Gay Equality," was nominated for GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Article.

Molly Ball covers U.S.

Politics, particularly at the national level.

She is critical of Donald Trump, calling his presidency a chaotic one, and a "show that never ends". She analyzes the Republican Party's internal conflicts through interviews with people like Reince Priebus.

Personal Life

Ball currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, David Kihara.

Together, they have three children.

On January 19, 2007, she won $100,000 on the television show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
