Mitchell Santos Toledo

Mitchell Santos Toledo is a DACA recipient attending Harvard Law School. [1] [3]

Early Life

Toledo immigrated to the United States when he was two years old. His parents had temporary visas when they brought him and his 5-year-old sister to the country. [1]

Two additional children in his family were born in the U.S. and are American citizens.

Toledo's mother stayed home to take care of the family, his father did manual labor, under the table. [1]

Education & Career

After four years part time studying at Santa Monica College, Toledo transferred to the University of California, Berkeley. In 2016, he graduated with highest honors. He was selected as the class speaker in the legal studies department. [1]

He dedicated his speech to his education, his fellow classmates, some of them also DACA recipients, his life in America and his parents.

[1]

While studying he briefly worked in a doctor's office, then got a job in a legal office where he fell in love with the practice of law. Toledo is graduating from Harvard Law School next spring. If his DACA status is renewed, he has a job at a law firm afterward. [1]
