Michelle Ye Hee Lee is an American journalist based in Washington, D.C. She is an enterprise reporter at The Washington Post, covering money and influence in politics. ^{[1] [2] [4] [5]}

Michelle Ye Hee Lee graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor's degree in International studies and English. ^[5]

Michelle Ye Hee Lee started her career in 2006 as an intern at Pacific Daily News. In 2008, she was an intern at Creative Loafing. A year later, she became an intern at Chicago Tribune.^[5]

Prior to joining The Washington Post in November 2014, she was a government accountability reporter at The Arizona Republic, covering public money, regulatory loopholes and state and county politics. ^[2]

Lee began as a reporter on The Washington Post's Fast Checker, digging for the truth beyond political rhetoric.

She is the president of the Asian American Journalists Association and a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors. Lee also mentors students at a local high school through Press Pass Mentors. ^[2]
