Michelle Makori
Michelle Makori (born in 1975) in Haifa, Israel. She is a Journalist, best known for her focus on financial reporting, in particular domestic and international business-related news. She serves as the anchor of i24NEWS (United States) based in New York City, and is also the company’s Editor-in-Chief.
Early Life
She was born in Haifa Isreal but grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. After matriculating from high school, she enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
She graduated with honors, completing a degree in Media Studies and Journalism.
She then continues her education, re-enrolling and taking up a double major in Law and Psychology.
After completing her post graduate degree, she then took up a business course in the Damelin School of Business, Management and Corporate Training.
The school is owned by the Education Investment Corporation or Educor and is the oldest education subsidiary of the company.
The school offers various higher qualifications and degrees though is only considered a college due to regulations in South Africa.
Michelle also took up classes at Allenby Film School.
Career
After completing her education, she began working with the television network, South African Broadcasting Corporation or SABC in 2000. The network is known for owning five television broadcasts and 19 radio stations in the country. It is one of the largest state owned enterprises in South Africa, and is often criticized for being the mouthpiece of the ruling African National Congress. For the next five years, she served as a reporter, producer, and anchor for the network, then left SABC to begin working for Bloomberg.
Bloomberg news is an international news agency which has headquarters in New York, USA, with content produced and disseminated through various platforms. The company has a strong presence online, on television, and on radio. For five years she served as a reporter and anchor for the company, after which she decided to try her hand at a financial career, and joined the company Beryle Consulting as a senior advisor, tracking and analyzing the operations of the company. She also did analysis on any issues the company might have, while providing support to higher ranked executives.[1]
