Michelle Boorstein is an American journalist based in Washington, D.C. She is a Religion reporter at The Washington Post, covering American faith. ^[1]

Michelle Boorstein graduated University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor's degree in journalism and history. She went on to attend New York University, where she received a Master's degree in Near Eastern studies.

Since January 2006 she has covered the marketplace of American faith, spirituality spirituality and meaning-making. The Religion Newswriters Association named her Religion Reporter of the Year for religion writing in large news organizations in 2011, 2013 and 2017.
