Michael McCrudden (born February 26, 1986), is a Canadian actor and YouTube Personality based in Toronto, Canada. He is known for his YouTube segments Before They Were Famous and After They Were Famous. ^[1]

Michael was born and raised in Mississauga, Canada. He is the youngest child to immigrant parents from Ireland to Steve and Kathy. His father was a master electrician and soccer fanatic while his mother was a esthetician and practicing Catholic. Michael has three older siblings. During his childhood, Michael was enthusiastic about dinosaurs and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He spent his youth playing soccer, acting, modeling, and had a stint participating in Irish dancing.

At the age of 5 through modeling, Michael won the title of Mr. Little Mississauga.

Some of the roles he played include the Cowardly Lion, King Louis XIV, a crossdressing teacher in Othello, and more.

In high school, Michael hanged out with jocks even though he was more interested in theater.

When he was 17-years-old, he lost his virginity and his mother walked in on him and his companion.

She proceeded to beat both of them with a shoe.

One of Michael's idols growing up was Jim Carrey. He watched all of his films and dressed up as him for Halloween for nearly a decade. He would do impressions of Carrey at family events. Carrey represented to Michael a fellow Canada who overcame the obstacles in his life to become one of the most well-known actors in the world. Other people he looked up to includes Eminem and later Russell Brand.

After high school, Michael took some time off to figure out to make some money and figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

He worked at Giant Carpet for nearly a decade before being an actor and media personality full-time.

Michael would earn a small scholarship to attend McMaster University where he would study theater and film. ^[1] He would win the McMaster Hammerhead award for being the biggest party guy at the school. During his summers, who would live in Ireland and worked as a bartender and explore his Irish roots.

Michael graduated college at the same time as the dot-com crash.

Due to the poor economic enviorment, Michael's first job out of college was working as a delivery driver for minimum wage.

He worked as a Production Assistant for three years before taking his acting career into his own hands.

Michael hired an acting agent and was placed and small acting gigs as well as hosting programs.

He started making YouTube videos in January of 2008 and one of his first big hits was a Tim Horton rap song.

He would send out audition tapes to MTV and similar networks to host their programs and also sent a tape to audition for the real world.

Along with taking acting classes, he would re-enroll in school and studied television, writing, and producing.

At the time of his graduation, Michael had developed three full shows including a sitcom, a college reality show, and a show featuring his Irish family installing bars in people's homes.

None of those shows were picked up by major networks and Michael was back to moving furniture, finding gigs on Craigslist, worked at bars and was an Uber driver. At this time, Michael felt like he lost all hope and revisited the story of Jim Carrey to rekindle inspiration. He went on to write a screenplay about Jim Carrey's life. ^[25]

While Michael was searching on Craigslist one Day, he discovered a post looking for someone to audition for the YouTube show, Information Overload, and would earn the spot.

He started off making three videos a week and later pushed out ten videos a day for the program.

After achieving success with Information Overload, Michael would turn his Jim Carrey screenplay into his first Before They Were Famous video on September 22nd, 2013.

Before They Were Famous became a juggernaut on YouTube and he would do different episodes on different celebrities, actors, athletes, prominent people, and more.

By 2016 to 2017 after covering most mainstream stars, Michael would start doing programs about social media celebrities and SoundCloud Rappers. By August 2016, he would have a million subscribers and by November 2017 he had over two million subscribers.
