Mia Burks was the director of Special Projects for ReGeneration Schools in Chicago.

According to several sources, Mia was born in the state of North Carolina and has lived much of her childhood and teenage years in Raleigh.

Mia Burks attended Saint Augustine's University, a historically African American University. She received her bachelor of Applied science degree in Biology and Public Health.

Mia Burks then attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she received her Master's degree in Health Communication.

After her graduation and working University jobs to pay for her expenses and get by with her loans, she was hired by National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Raleigh.

She then left her job to work in retail as a sales associate for Nike.

Sometime after, she moved to Chicago where she worked as an intern for Lurthern Child and Family Services.

She is now the director of Special Projects for ReGeneration Schools.

As the Director of Special Projects, she is in charge of strategizing and planning events/initiatives.

She builds rapport with relevant stakeholders to enhance the quality and environment of the 6 schools within the ReGeneration system.

In addition, she handles most of the communication on the behalf of the CEO.

Yet due to the news that has leaked into the world about her love affair with Carmelo Anthony, it has been reported that she's gone back to North Carolina, and it's unsure whether she has quit her job, or if she has taken a break.

On April 18th, 2017, it was reported that NBA basketball superstar, Carmelo Anthony, filed for divorce along with his wife, La La Vazquez. Sources surrounding Anthony's lover bearing his child reached the internet and it was revealed the women is Mia Burks.

Initially, publications wrote about Burks as being a dancer and stripper from unconfirmed sources.

Yet, her LinkedIn reveals that she's actually a social worker in Chicago. Many sources close to Carmelo have denied the rumors that he's connected to Burks.
